Well, the lucky clients of BMO Private Bank in West Palm Beach were treated to the expertise of Leslie Hindman Auctioneers and given the good news of how much those old items were worth at the recent ?Cocktails and Appraisals? event

Guests attending the special event held at the BMO Private Bank were able to bring in their valuables to Michael J. Dyer, certified financial planner and managing director of BMO Private Bank, and receive the news that many people would love to hear: the value of their items. The bank created special appraisal areas for guests to receive personalized attention while enjoying cocktails and hors d?oeuvres, all while being serenaded by classical guitar. Sounds like the perfect way to receive good news to me!

Close to 200 lucky individuals made their way through the offices on March 5 hoping to discover that they held treasure in their hands. Whether those items were rare books, antiques, artwork, or those family jewels that have been handed down through generations, learning that Aunt Ida?s broach could fetch a cool $50,000 is enough to make even the sternest smile.

Dyer likened the event to the show ?Antiques Roadshow? and had this to say recently regarding the event: ?We decided to bring one of the nation?s most highly respected appraisers to our clients, so they would not only have the correct value of their most treasured items for investment purposes, but also so they could have them insured properly. These appraisals provide accurate information so our clients can decide to keep these items for their heirs or to liquidate these assets to make way for other investments.?

Maybe we should all take a look in the attic ? perhaps we might also find some hidden treasure!
