There Are Several Ways To Improve Poor Self Esteem ? Revitol Hair ...

You likely can tell if you have low self esteem. Your self esteem has an effect on how you view life. For instance, you may feel you can?t make the right decisions, and each time you attempt to do something it doesn?t ever go right. The dangerous part about poor self esteem is it may cause many outcomes to turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. But for some people, changing this around can be achieved with sufficient information, hopefully some support and persistence.

Know that poor self esteem is a a conditioned behavior that can be modified. There may be numerous contributors to this particular frame of mind. How other people treated you had a great influence on your self worth when your were young. As children, we trust what individuals in authority say to us. Our friends and schoolmates likewise determine our concept of self. These earlier influences go on to impact us as we grow up.

The first step towards improving how you feel about yourself is to determine to act. Having knowledge of self-assurance will help you feel more sure of yourself. Changes like this come about bit by bit and call for persistence. Little by little you will observe results, if you hold fast. So, you merely start by increasing your awareness about your views. Be cognizant of your feelings in various social situations. Recurring thinking patterns will eventually become evident. How can you recognize what things you need to change until you know what your current habits are?

Many techniques are out there for you to use. A superb place to start is with your general behavior. Begin modifying a few simple bad thoughts by choosing to direct your attention on even little accomplishments. Make it a habit to replace negative thought you notice with an optimistic one. Also, it is very helpful to take some time and perform the following mental workout. Simply recollect something you did that went the right way. You can always something great in each circumstance. It?s not important what it was. One positive thought is going to to another.

Noticing what?s great will soon be second nature to you. It is just that you have been focusing a lot on the bad stuff. Also, begin building up your mind to avoid all the mental chatter and clutter. Success is guaranteed if you work hard at it. It took you many years to create the old habits, so be diligent in your efforts to change your habits.

New Rochelle, NY -- A novel method for printing human cells onto surfaces in defined patterns can help advance research on tissue engineering and regeneration, as described in an article in Tissue Engineering, Part C, Methods, a peer-reviewed journal from Mary Ann Liebert, Inc (http://www.liebertpub.com). The article is available free online at the Tissue Engineering website (http://www.liebertpub.com/ten).

"Cell printing is one of the breakthrough technologies that will make the application of stem cells for tissue engineering feasible," says John Jansen, DDS, PhD, Methods Co-Editor-in-Chief and Professor and Chairman, Department of Biomaterials, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center, The Netherlands.

Yu Fang and colleagues, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, combined two microscale techniques to dispense and position cells in a variety of patterns. They then demonstrated the ability to use these 3-dimensional cell systems to monitor cell signaling events known to have a role in the growth, proliferation, and metastasis of cancer cells. The authors describe the use of sound waves to deliver microdroplets of cells and polymer-based phase separation to control cell placement in the article "Rapid Generation of Multiplexed Cell Co-Cultures Using Acoustic Droplet Ejection Followed by Aqueous Two-phase Exclusion Patterning." Woman who fled Iraq suffers brutal end in US

(AP) ? Shaima Alawadi and her family fled Iraq nearly two decades ago as Saddam Hussein crushed a Shiite uprising, settling in the U.S. so they would no longer face persecution, a family friend said.

Alawadi, 32, grew up in the country's largest Iraqi enclaves, wore the Muslim headscarf and volunteered at the mosque.

Now, after her body was found severely beaten in her suburban San Diego home, police, the FBI and members of the Iraqi community are wondering whether her death was a hate crime or something else.

Among the evidence that police have collected is a threatening note that was near Alawadi's body. Her daughter told a television station that it said: "Go back to your country, you terrorist."

El Cajon Police Chief James Redman declined to discuss the contents of the note Monday, though he said that it has led police to regard the killing as a possible hate crime. He said he was confident the case would be solved.

"I want to stress there is other evidence in this case that we are looking at and the possibility this is a hate crime is just one aspect," Redman said.

"We don't have tunnel vision on this case," he said. "We're looking at the big picture."

Redman said he was confident it was an isolated incident but would not say why.

The death rippled across the world, with Alawadi's name being mentioned on Twitter and the case being discussed in Iraqi communities in the San Diego and Detroit suburbs. Lawmakers in Baghdad called for a full investigation.

Her slaying was being compared to that of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed Florida teen shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer, said Dawud Walid, executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

"Trayvon was black wearing a hoodie. Shaima was wearing a hijab," Walid said, referring to the Muslim headscarf. "It's the same racist principle at play that killed both of these individuals."

Others were more guarded, saying they wanted to wait for the investigation to unfold.

"It is absolutely devastating for the family and the community, so we need move on very, very cautiously. Emotions are high, but we need to make sure we let the professionals do what they need to do," said Hanif Mohebi, executive director of CAIR's San Diego chapter.

The chief said Alawadi died of severe head trauma. She was taken off life support Saturday, three days after her teenage daughter found her unconscious in the dining room of the family's El Cajon home, east of San Diego.

The victim's daughter, Fatima Al Himidi, told KUSI-TV in San Diego that her mother had been beaten on the head repeatedly with a tire iron, and the threatening note was next to her. Police would not confirm the type of weapon used in the attack.

Police said the family found another threatening note within the last month but did not report it to authorities. Mohebi said family members told him they dismissed the initial note as a prank.

The victim and her family fled Iraq in the early 1990s after a failed Shiite uprising, living in Saudi Arabian refugee camps before coming to the U.S., said Imam Husham Al-Husainy of the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center in Dearborn, Mich.

Saddam's troops hanged Alawadi's uncle.

"She lost her uncle by Saddam," he said, "and when they came here to seek freedom, she got killed."

The family arrived in the Detroit area in 1993 and later moved to San Diego. Shaima Alawadi was a religious Shiite Muslim who wore a hijab and volunteered at a mosque, Al-Husainy said.

Alawadi's father, Sayed Nabeel Alawadi, is a cleric in Iraq, said Al-Husainy, who described himself as a close family friend.

Hayder Al-Zayadi, a family friend, told the Detroit Free Press that Alawadi's brothers worked for the U.S. Army, serving as cultural advisers to train soldiers who were going to be deployed to the Middle East.

Another family friend told U-T San Diego that Alawadi's husband had a similar job. Redman said Alawadi's husband was currently on disability and didn't know his previous employment.

Flowers were set on the doorstep of the home Monday. One of the glass panels on a sliding back patio door was boarded up with wood. The backyard overlooks a middle school.

Alvin Luckenbach, who lives next door, exchanged pleasantries with Alawadi and her husband. He said she recently apologized for her kids making noise playing basketball on Alawadi's back patio.

"They were always nice," Luckenbach said.

The Iraqi foreign minister said Monday that Alawadi's body will be flown to Iraq.

The FBI, which is assisting El Cajon police in the investigation, defines a hate crime as an offense motivated by a bias against race, religion, ethnicity, disability or sexual orientation. There were 1,409 hate crimes nationwide based on religion during 2010, including 186 targeting Muslims. There were 1,040 based on ethnicity or national origin, including 359 targeting groups other than Hispanics.

Syrian tanks enter northern town, Homs pounded again

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syrian forces pounded the battered city of Homs with tank and mortar fire and troops pummeled several other rebel strongholds on Saturday, leaving at least 24 dead, opposition activists said.

With the bloodshed showing no signs of abating, the U.N.-Arab League peace envoy for Syria, Kofi Annan, flew to Moscow, seeking Russian backing for his efforts to secure a ceasefire.

Western and Arab states want Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to stand down but Russia, a long-time ally of Syria, has put the onus on the armed rebels and their foreign backers to make the first move.

In a statement ahead of Sunday's meeting between Annan and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the Kremlin said it would be hard to enforce a halt to the violence "until external armed and political support of the opposition is terminated".

More than a year after the start of the uprising against Assad, the prospect of a negotiated peace seemed more remote than ever, with clashes reported in numerous locations.

At least 10 people were killed by explosions and sniper fire in Homs, the epicenter of the anti-Assad revolt, said activists who accused Syrian forces of shelling residential areas in the centre of the city indiscriminately.

"The shelling started like it does every morning, for no reason. They are using mortar and tank fire on many neighborhoods of old Homs," an activist in Homs's Bab Sbaa district told Reuters via Skype.

He said most residents in the area had fled to safer districts and many were trying to escape the city altogether.

The Syrian government says rebels have killed about 3,000 members of the security forces and blames the violence on "terrorist" gangs. The official Sana news agency said the bodies of 18 "army martyrs", killed in various clashes, were buried on Saturday.

REBELS UNDER FIRE

Syrian troops have repeatedly targeted Homs, Syria's third largest city, and said last month they had regained control of Baba Amr, a large neighborhood held by rebels for several months. However, a surge in violence in other neighborhoods this week suggested the army was struggling to keep control.

The Homs activist, who declined to be named for fear of reprisals, said the opposition Free Syrian Army had also not been able to reestablish its hold on parts of the city.

"The Free Syrian Army had been in Bab Sbaa when the army started shelling the area four days ago and they weren't able to block the army raids because they were getting hit by mortars at the same time that armored vehicles were coming in," he said.

"We only have a few rebels here left. There is nothing they can do," he added.

It was impossible to verify the reports independently. Syrian authorities have prevented foreign journalists and human rights workers from entering affected areas.

Further to the north, security forces killed at least five people and wounded dozens more in raids on Saraqib, which lies in Idlib province bordering Turkey, activists said.

"There are dozens of tanks and armored vehicles storming Saraqib now and there is heavy artillery fire," an activist called Manhal said via Skype.

Mortars and heavy artillery fire also hit the city of Qusair, in Homs province, killing three civilians. There were reports of overnight clashes in the city of Douma, close to the capital Damascus.

In the southern province of Deraa, birthplace of the revolt, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said a man was shot dead at a checkpoint in an area where a soldier had been gunned down. Three other soldiers were killed in an attack in the northeastern province of Hasaka, it said.

RUSSIAN COMPLAINTS

Deep divisions within opposition ranks have weakened the anti-Assad front. In a bid to tackle the problem at a military level, a senior army defector said on Saturday that all rebel groups would work under the leadership of the Free Syrian Army.

"In these critical times that our beloved Syria is passing through, it is necessary that all noble people of this nation work to unite all efforts at toppling this corrupt regime," Brigadier General Mustafa Sheikh said in a video message.

Sheikh said he would head the group's military council while FSA leader Colonel Riad al-Asaad, who was sitting alongside him, would take charge of the fighting forces.

Annan is leading international efforts to avoid any escalation and has drawn up a six-point plan, including demands for a ceasefire, the immediate withdrawal of heavy armor from residential areas and access for humanitarian assistance.

Attempts to halt the conflict have been stymied by divisions between world powers. Russia and China have vetoed two U.N. resolutions highly critical of Damascus.

Moscow and Beijing did support a Security Council resolution earlier this week endorsing Annan's mission. The former U.N. chief is due to fly to China after his Russia talks.

Moscow has accused the West of being too one-sided in the conflict, arguing that outside support for rebels is fuelling the fighting in Syria, which hosts a Russian naval base.

World News - Iranian weapons help Bashar Assad put down Syria ...

Europe's attempts to punish Syria's brutal regime turned today to the British-born wife of President Assad. Asma al-Assad was banned from traveling to Europe and her financial assets were frozen. But the sanctions may be largely impotent, as a UK passport holder she can't be prevented from entering the UK. ITV's Paul Davies reports

By Reuters

WASHINGTON -- Iran is providing a broad array of assistance to Syrian President Bashar Assad to help him suppress anti-government protests, from high-tech surveillance technology to guns and ammunition, U.S. and European security officials say.

Tehran's technical assistance to Assad's security forces includes electronic surveillance systems, technology designed to disrupt efforts by protesters to communicate via social media, and Iranian-made drone aircraft for overhead surveillance, the officials said. They discussed intelligence matters on condition of anonymity.

"Over the past year, Iran has provided security assistance to Damascus to help shore up Assad. Tehran during the last couple of months has been aiding the Syrian regime with lethal assistance - including rifles, ammunition, and other military equipment -- to help it put down the opposition," a U.S. official said.

"Iran has provided Damascus (with) monitoring tools to help the regime suppress the opposition. It has also shared techniques on Internet surveillance and disruption," the official continued.

Syrians brave gunfire in anti-Assad protests

He added that Iran had also provided Assad's government with "unarmed drones that Damascus is using along with its own technology to monitor opposition forces."

Syria's rebel fighters are desperate for arms and ammunition. Members of the Free Syrian Army were forced from Idlib - one of the last rebel strongholds. ITN's John Irvine reports from outskirts of Idlib, the north western city which rebels surrendered last week.

Iranian security officials have also traveled to Damascus to advise Assad's entourage how to counter dissent, the official said. Some Iranian officials have stayed on in Syria to advise Assad's forces, he added.

Iran's multi-pronged security aid to Syria appears to have helped Assad's government in its increasingly violent campaign to hold on to power in the face of a year-long protest movement. The United Nations estimates 8,000 civilians have died in the conflict.

However, the U.S. and European officials said the Syrian government's survival is not totally dependent on continuing help from Tehran.

Assad's wife banned from traveling, shopping in EU

U.S. and allied official broadly agree that Assad's control remains solid. His opponents are hopelessly disorganized, the officials said, which may make it possible for the Syrian president and his entourage to hold onto power for years.

"At current levels Iranian aid is important but not really a game changer in the overall conflict," a U.S. official noted.

Paul Conroy, a photographer for the Sunday Times, was badly injured while on assignment in Syria and his colleague ? legendary war correspondent Marie Colvin was killed. Conroy joins NBC's Andrea Mitchell to reflect on the situation.

Iran has for decades been a patron to Syria, which has helped funnel aid and weapons to the Iranian-backed Shiite Muslim militia Hezbollah in Lebanon.

During the protests that followed Iran's disputed 2009 presidential election -- the biggest mass protests since the Islamic Republic's founding in 1979 -- Iranian authorities disrupted social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as cell phone networks.

Iran's internal crackdown reportedly has escalated since then.

Wounded Syrians recount horror of tank attacks

A European official said that the Iranians were providing Syrian security agencies with hardware and software that would help them disrupt efforts to organize protests inside Syria and efforts by anti-government elements to spread their message to supporters outside the country.

European suppliers
Officials said that Syria had also obtained some surveillance technology from European suppliers.

As protests against Assad's rule grew last year, the United States first raised the possibility that Iranian authorities were helping their Syrian counterparts suppress dissent.

Finally, UN reaches agreement over 'extremely dangerous crisis' in Syria

Last June the U.S. Treasury Department announced economic sanctions against two of Iran's most senior police officials for allegedly helping Assad's government crush protests.

The Treasury imposed U.S. economic sanctions on Ismail Ahmadi Moghadam and Ahmad-Reza Radan, chief and deputy chief of Iran's national police force, because their agency had "provided support to the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate and dispatched personnel to Damascus in April to assist the Syrian government in suppressing the Syrian people."

The Treasury alleged that Radan had traveled to Damascus to meet with Syrian security agencies, to whom he allegedly provided "expertise to aid in the Syrian government crackdown on the Syrian people."

Activist: Assad's crackdown turning peaceful Syrians into terrorists

U.S. officials said Iranian efforts to bolster Syria's surveillance capabilities have been supplemented by deliveries to Syria of Iranian-made unarmed surveillance drone aircraft.

Earlier this month a specialized website, The Aviationist, reported that a drone flying over the city of Homs, the site of recent violent clashes between government and opposition forces, had been identified as a "Pahpad" drone, which the website said meant "remotely piloted aircraft" in Farsi.

Saudi Arabia will deliver military equipment to Syrian rebels in an effort to stop the bloodshed. NBC's Ayman Mohyeldin reports.

In February another specialized website, Open Source GEOINT, published freeze-frame images from what purported to be an amateur cameraman's video of a suspected drone flying over a Damascus suburb.

Iran vows to retaliate 'on the same level' to US or Israel attack

The website noted that some news reports had suggested that the United States was flying intelligence drones over Syria but that the drone in the pictures did not appear to be a U.S. model.

The website cited speculation that the drone might be of Iranian origin. Ynet News, an Israeli website, reported this month that Syria's defense industry produces drones that are technologically identical to Iranian-produced models and speculated that these domestically produced models were what Syrian security forces had deployed.

Report: 'I am the real dictator,' Bashar's wife says

However, a U.S. official said that some of Syria's drones had come directly from Iran.

Last weekend the Iranian news agency Fars announced that Iranian experts had produced what it called a "new type of drone" known as the Shaparak, or "Butterfly," which it said was "capable of carrying out military and border patrol missions."

Discovr Unveils People Finder App, Helps You Surface Interesting People On Twitter

discovr-people-photoDiscovr, the company behind what's still one of my all-time favorite mobile app discovery tools, Discovr Apps, is out today with a new application for finding people. Not surprisingly, it's called Discovr People. The startup, which also has apps in the Music and Movies verticals, is not trying to compete with the trendy "ambient location"/people-stalking apps hitting the scene as of late (like Higlight, Sonar, Glancee, Banjo, etc.), but instead is providing more of a Twitter-based people finder, not unlike the Berlin-based Flockofbirds app.

(AP) ? Presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Thursday said Republicans should give President Barack Obama another term if Santorum isn't the GOP nominee and for a second day compared rival Mitt Romney to an Etch A Sketch toy.

Santorum reiterated an argument he has made before: The former Massachusetts governor is not conservative enough to offer voters a clear choice in the fall election and that only he can provide that contrast.

"You win by giving people a choice," Santorum said during a campaign stop in Texas. "You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there."

Santorum added: "If they're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future."

Santorum was referencing Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom's comment Wednesday that "everything changes" for the fall campaign. "It's almost like an Etch A Sketch," he said on CNN. "You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again."

The remark reignited criticism of Romney as the type of politician who will say or do anything to win.

Romney, who made no public appearances Thursday, issued a statement expressing disappointment "that Rick Santorum would rather have Barack Obama as president than a Republican."

"This election is more important than any one person. It is about the future of America," he said. "Any of the Republicans running would be better than President Obama and his record of failure."

Rival Newt Gingrich tweeted: "Rick Santorum is dead wrong. Any GOP nominee will be better than Obama."

During his speech to employees of USAA, a San Antonio-based insurance and financial services firm, Santorum briefly held up an Etch A Sketch and said his positions don't change like etchings on the toy, which are erased with a shake. He could be seen fiddling with the toy's knobs in the intervals between questions from audience members.

Addressing reporters afterward, Santorum lit into Romney for saying "I'm going to run as a conservative."

"He didn't say 'I am a conservative.' He said 'I'm going to run as a conservative.' So what do you do, you just sort of decide what you're going to be for the elections?" Santorum asked. "No one can accuse me of that. People say, 'Well, you can't win because of that.' No, I will win because of it."

Santorum said his brand of political authenticity will play well in Texas because "people are looking for someone who is real, someone they can relate to, not someone who can get in front of an audience and say whatever they want."

The Texas primary has been pushed to May 29 because of litigation over redistricting maps drawn by the Republican-dominated state Legislature. Santorum said he expects to win Saturday's primary in Louisiana and added, "The race will not be over when Texas comes around."

"You'll have the opportunity here, in the state of Texas, to speak very loudly about what kind of leader you want in this country," he said.

Santorum said he speaks with Texas Gov. Rick Perry before scheduled campaign stops in the state. Perry sought the GOP nomination but left the race in January and endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"This is an important state for us," Santorum said. "I've already spent a lot of time, I've already done a lot of campaign events in Texas. More than anybody else, I suspect."

Is It Time For the US Government To Back Fusion At NIF Over ITER?

ananyo writes "Laser beams at the National Ignition Facility have fired a record 1.875 megajoule shot into its target chamber, surpassing their design specification. The achievement is a milepost on the way to ignition ? the 'break-even' point at which the facility will finally be able to release more energy than goes into the laser shot by imploding a target pellet of hydrogen isotopes. NIF's managers think the end of their two-year campaign for break-even energy is in sight and say they should achieve ignition before the end of 2012. However, with scientists at NIF saying that a $4 billion pilot plant could be putting hundreds of megawatts into the grid by the early 2020s, some question whether the Department of Energy is backing the wrong horse with ITER ? a $21-billion international fusion experiment under construction at St-Paul-lez-Durance, France. Is it time for the DoE to switch priorities and back NIF's proposals?" Perhaps a better idea, given the potential benefits of fusion research, would be for the DoE to throw their weight behind multiple projects, rather than sacrificing some to support others.

Toastmasters: A Surprisingly Effective Small Business Networking ...

Small business networking. Does the very idea give you a heavy feeling in the pit of your stomach? If so, you?re not alone. Many small business owners are put off by the idea of networking.

But let?s face the fact networking is an important tool for small business success. Even if you have the best product or service, with the lowest price possible, if nobody knows about it then you won?t sell anything.

Joining a networking group can actually be fun and beneficial if you choose the one that works best for you and your business. This is where Toastmasters comes in.

You might think that Toastmasters is just for public speaking. Well, the fact is that although public speaking is the main focus of Toastmasters, it?s also a darn good place to network. There are some surprisingly effective networking benefits when you join Toastmasters. Let me elaborate.

For one thing, Toastmasters is recognized as a leadership building tool, so the people you will meet in your local Toastmasters group make great small business networking contacts. Public speaking is all about learning to speak eloquently and without fear while utilizing listening skills in order to recognize and react to another speaker?s body language ? thus gaining a deeper insight and understanding of their unspoken needs. In business, this knowledge is often worth its weight in gold.

At the same time, you will get practice in speaking well in many different settings, while learning how to recognize other people?s body language and to use that knowledge to your advantage. And in any business, especially sales, knowing how to read other people is very useful. You get all of this while mingling with other individuals who might need your services or products, or who might refer you to someone else who does.

Giving speeches not only hones your public speaking skills, it also gives you the opportunity to speak about your business! You can use your time to your advantage by choosing a business topic for your speech. You are now ?sharing? your business and improving your skills in one smooth move!

Doing it this way is a breeze: you no longer have to feel like you are talking to someone at a networking event who is not interested in you. Your Toastmasters colleagues are there for you; they rooting for you. You are just telling your co-members of Toastmasters what you doing for a living. Selling and mingling at the same time!

Although there is a membership fee to join Toastmasters, it is a good investment when you consider the potential enormous return in the end. Toastmasters chapters are available all throughout the United States and Canada.

Small Business Marketing: Tips for Growing Your Business

Article by Bret Pippen

Many entrepreneurs, such as yourself, tend to find small business marketing difficult. You may think you don?t have sufficient budget to support results-oriented marketing programs. And, you may be spending so much time ?in? your business that you don?t have time to work ?on? your business.

Every business owner must strike the right balance between performing the business? core work and marketing its services. Although you may have solid customer relationships now, things change. A customer may go out of business or be bought by another company that uses a different vendor. In either case, you may find this business drying up.

Customers can leave for any number of reasons and at a drop of the hat. Therefore, small business marketing strategies can ensure you maintain a steady stream of customers. The last thing you need as an entrepreneur is to be in crisis mode when a customer leaves.

So how can you develop small business marketing programs without breaking the bank? The following ideas are easy to do, don?t cost an arm and a leg, and can deliver excellent results:

Use Testimonials. Positive references remain a proven way to grow your business. Everyone wants to do business with a company that has a good track record with its customers. If you?ve developed strong relationships and have satisfied customers, use their feedback to help you get additional business.

Testimonials are powerful small business marketing tools because they?re objective, third-party endorsements. Customers get tired of the marketing hype and want to weed through the clutter to determine a vendor?s real capabilities. Testimonials provide the peace-of-mind that the business lives up to its claims.

Here?s how to use testimonials:

Approach your best customers and ask them to write a recommendation for you on their letterhead. First, ask them if they are willing to publicly endorse your company, and second how you can help make the task easy for them.

Depending on your relationship with the customer, you may want to suggest you write the draft for them, based on their feedback. This does not mean you tell them what you want them to say! Instead, you can have them tell you what they want to say and then you can prepare it. Or, you can prepare a draft for them to edit by documenting things they?ve told you or their positive statements made in e-mails.

Once you finalize the testimonials with your customers, you can use them in your shop window if you?re a retail business, on your website, in e-mails, in your blogs or newsletters, in sales presentations, or any other communication vehicles. Another good small business marketing tactic is to use video testimonials on your website. This is probably one of the most impactful tools you can use to generate new business.

Increase Word-of-Mouth. This type of advertising is one of the best forms of small business marketing. However, it?s also the most passive. So, to help the process along you can do several things like create a referral program. If customers earn rewards for recommending your business, chances are the word-of-mouth will spread quicker.

In addition, you can use social media to your advantage. Encourage customer comments on Facebook, for example. Social media also helps you stay in touch with your customers so your business will come to mind when they need the services you provide.

It?s easy to create a Facebook page and doesn?t cost anything. It?s a casual tool for connecting and staying in touch with your customers and prospects. Twitter and permission-based e-mail marketing can help as well.

Small business marketing doesn?t have to be overwhelming or require huge budgets. In fact, you can get free help from many online resources. The Small Business Administration has a great website with tons of good information. Your local Chamber of Commerce may have programs to benefit your business as well. Just be sure to spend enough time marketing your business so you?ll enjoy a steady flow of customers and revenues.

Why to Invest in Silver | Australian Press Releases

Is silver a great investment? The answer is yes. Like gold, silver is really a safe investment that offers a highly effective hedge against inflation and adverse economic conditions, apart from wealth creation. Unlike fiat currencies, the value of silver does not fall in real terms with time. However, prior to deciding on how to purchase silver or where you can buy silver, you need to know why to purchase silver. Heres a look at the benefits and drawbacks of silver investing:

Advantages

Returns. Though silver is nearly 17 times more rich in nature than gold, it is more scarce in circulation. According to some estimates, the combined sovereign gold holdings by various treasuries on the planet tend to be more than the total mined silver available. Historically, silver has outperformed gold when it comes to returns which is truer these days than in the past. Over the last 2 decades, the returns on silver happen to be almost three times those of gold. Since 2009, silver price has grown 87% with over 630% returns, while gold price increased 30% with over 250% returns.

Demand. The demand for silver isnt driven by economic condition alone. It has a large use in industry and in the past few years thats been the major factor for silvers price rally. Currently, nearly half of the total demand for silver is industrial. The majority of the silver that is used in industry cannot be extracted and recycled because of various reasons, implying that silver is being consumed in manufacturing. Such demand is likely to continue pushing silver higher later on.

Affordability. Referred to as poor mans gold, silver is a highly affordable rare metal for all practical purposes. The gold to silver ratio is one of the most watched metrics within the gold and silver area. This ratio has been fluctuating over years. Even at current silver peaks the ratio stands around 31, indicating that gold prices are around 31 times those of silver. Therefore, affordability coupled with returns makes silver a winning investment option.

Liquidity. Like gold, silver has high liquidity and it is easily traded in various forms around the globe. For long, silver was adopted as a currency around the planet and enjoys similar recognition to this day.

Alternatives. There are numerous kinds of investments in silver that you can choose as per the needs you have. Included in this are bullion coins, collectors coins, bars, silver rounds, jewelry, junk silver, scrape, mutual funds, Etfs (ETFs), futures, options, certificates, and silver accounts.

Disadvantages

Bulk. Due to its low pricing, an equivalent amount of purchase of silver is a lot heavier as well as more space for storage than gold. This adds to transportation, insurance and storage costs for silver.

Maintenance. Silver gets oxidized readily, losing its sheen to a blackened appearance. Some of the premium thats paid during the time of purchasing a bit of silver relates to its appearance. You may lose out on such premium in your tarnished holdings during the time of selling. Therefore, it is very important to retain your physical silver in pristine condition. Bullion coins and certain numismatic coins are often obtainable in protective cover that protects them from oxidation. However, silver bars are subjected and face a greater chance of tarnishing.

Taxation. Unlike gold, silver is subject to taxation in most of the nations, either as capital gains tax or as vat. The tax rates in various countries range from 7% and 22%.

Instrument-specific drawbacks. Individual types of silver investments have various kinds of disadvantages. For example, futures are susceptible to inherent riskiness from the metal and markets. Another example is jewelry, that is unprofitable because its price includes crafting charges that fetch no value at the time of sale.

S&P keeps Greece rating at selective default

ATHENS (Reuters) - Standard & Poor's said on Thursday it would keep its long-term foreign sovereign credit rating for Greece at selective default until the country's bond swap is fully concluded.

Earlier this week, Fitch became the first ratings agency to move Greece out of default territory, assigning the country a speculative B- rating. But S&P said it would likely raise its rating to CCC - extremely speculative - only once Greece's debt restructuring is completed next month, with an exchange of bonds governed by international law.

"Our sovereign credit ratings on Greece will remain at SD until the exchange of Greece's non-Greek-law governed bonds is concluded, which we understand is to occur by April 11, 2012," S&P said in a statement.

Major rating agencies had warned Greece would be in default territory during the bond swap that shaved about 105 billion euros ($137 billion) off Greece's debt and imposed losses of about 74 percent on private bondholders.

S&P assigned a junk CCC rating on Thursday to the new bonds Greece created earlier this week, when the first and biggest part of its debt restructuring was completed.

The CCC rating reflects Greece's uncertain economic growth prospects and weakening consensus for reforms, S&P said.

Moody's is also expected to issue a statement on Greece soon.

What are the attractions of Nile river cruises - Travel - EzineMark

There are many popular overseas destinations, but how many of them that you have considered for your holiday break this year can offer all of the mysterious monuments that come with over four millennia of history? This is certainly something that you could say of Egypt. Nor is it the only benefit of booking a stay in the country, with others including a pleasing range of beaches and the cross-fertilisation of cultures that is a natural consequence of Egypt's position on the border of both Africa and the Middle East.

Oh, and the weather's good, too... which brings us neatly onto the subject of Nile river cruises. In-between your visits to the likes of the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid of Giza, you may like to discover this river that has long been Egypt's main artery. Indeed, the river has been a key channel down the ages for water, trade and irrigation, with Nile cruises making it possible for you to go on a journey that so many others have gone on before you.

Such a cruise presents you with the chance to both relax and sightsee, as Egypt's countryside, ancient monuments and traditional villages all gradually reveal themselves along the river bank.

Indeed, it is by booking a cruise holiday from any of the many firms that specialise in Nile river cruises that you can bring yourself within closer proximity of some of the country's most frequently visited resorts. These include the jaw-dropping city of Luxor. Often serving as the end point of a cruise down the Nile, this city is like an open-air antiquities museum, with its rich assortment of statues, palaces and other structures. Other popular stop-off points on Nile cruises include the peaceful El Gouna and Hurghada resorts, which combine facilities such as beaches with a good standard of holiday accommodation.
