Finca Tamana- Single Estate Colombian Coffee Now Brewing at all ...

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 21, 2012) - Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery is pleased to announce that it will be serving a new Single Estate Feature Coffee, Finca Tamana, from Colombia. This premium direct trade coffee is available for a limited time in all Good Earth coffeehouses and is served brewed by the cup or French press. Retail whole bean by the bag is also available to enjoy at home or the office.

"We continue to pursue direct trade relationships with farmers to purchase the highest quality coffees with limited quantity and availability," says Gerry Docherty, Chief Operating Officer.

This Single Estate Colombian is grown in the El Pital Region on a small farm 1700 meters above sea level. Farmer Elias Roa and his family have been producing coffee for 25 years. As president of his local growers association, Elias is leading others in his region to grow higher quality coffee.

The Finca Tamana has aromas and flavours of freshly baked apple crumble. This light roast coffee has a crisp, green apple acidity*, and a wonderfully clean finish**. It is a blend of Caturra and Colombian varietals. Elias uses a wet process to clean the pulp from these coffee cherries. Wet processed coffee is sometimes called washed coffee and will have a very clean, balanced flavor profile.

*Acidity used as a coffee term, refers to bright, tangy, fruity, or wine-like flavor characteristics found in many high grown coffees.

**Clean Finish refers to the coffee being flavorful, but without any pungent or unusual flavors.
