Google is Alive with the Sound of Music - Hansoken

Anyone who is keeping up with Google knows that Google is trying to keep up with other music technology companies, such as, Spotify (a commercial music service providing legal music for download from a variety of major and independent record labels currently not available in Singapore) and Rdio (ad-less music subscription service).

?

Google?s secret to keeping up is its launch of an on-demand subscription music service called ?Google Play Music All Access? at US$9.99 a month currently only available in the US. ?It has web and mobile interface that allows customers to access millions of songs that can be instantly played, recommendations, charts and playlists, and instant radio stations.

?

Some critics argue that Google is just copying the successes of other tech companies, such as, developing Android after the iPhone and Google+ after Facebook. They say that ?Google Play Music All Access? is no different as it has many similar features to Spotify. Some have even closely compared the music services of the various tech companies and identified the pros and cons of using ?Google Play Music All Access?. Here?s an example of a list: ?Pros and Cons: Google Play Music All Access Subscription?. All have the feature to play music offline and store music on the cloud so you can access your music with any connected device. Google?s stand out because it is cheaper for now. However, getting music through Google requires a credit card and there is no iOS version of the app. Whatever the case, consumers can be thankful that we have a wide range of music services to choose from.

?

Unfortunately, some of these services are not yet available in Singapore. Hopefully, we don?t have to wait long before most of these services are made available in Singapore so that we can do the comparisons ourselves.
